Human Energy Experience
Today time management is a misnomer; it is not possible to manage your time!!!!! We are all very busy at work and in our home lives, we always feel that there is never enough time to do all that we do. Time management in the original traditional form has been replaced by our ability to have enough energy to tackle many things at once at any time of the day.
Planning precise, time sectioned and tasked days is not possible any longer. We all spend time in the world of very fast paced work, fast paced information and constant interactions with multiple and large sizes of information and media that keeps us up to date all the time; and ever busy. Some examples of today’s technology that does not care about whether we have time or not are bbm’s, sms’s, cellphones, emails, searching the internet for information, information being pushed to us by colleagues/friends/family/things we have subscribed to, participation in online social activities such as twitter, facebook, cell functions like mixit, network calls like video conferences, skype, and phone and cell conferences...to name a few and then there are books, newspapers and magazines! If that does not keep you busy then there are our ipods, ipads (and iphones for those that have spare batteries!!), TV’s, xbox, online games and maybe time to walk in your garden, go to gym, look after loved ones or go to a movie or show! If you think that is not enough pace we then all endure high volume/sometimes high speed, long distance car travel, flights that flip us all over the country and world and maybe somewhere in between we have time for our friends and families.
Then, we have our work to do too!!!!!!
Could the key to manage all of this be the fact that you can’t hope to plan precisely, but you can plan to manage your energy? You can have energy reserved for those sudden tasks, for those continuous tasks, you can find the positive energy to apply yourself to a busy life if you just find the key to understanding that energy can be controlled and can control your busy demands. You can refill your energy, you can muster up that peace of energy needed to push further/longer/harder...and perhaps then you can find the energy to go to gym, rest, sleep, exercise, live in a healthy way to keep yourself charged.
And all of this can only happen if you have positive energy. Try to focus on a positive energy mix and you will feel positive, if you feel full of energy you will convince your body to be energised and you will find the energy needed to cope. Try it???
As a thought to illustrate how you can convince you brain and body that you have energy consider the Gemsbok, traditionally an inhabitant of the Kalahari desert in Namibia, and it can go for days without water. They artificially tell their brain that it is not 42 degrees C, and “convince” the brain into thinking they don’t need water. Then they can still run at 56kph!! Now that’s energy!!
Imagine how the human brain can be convinced through attitude that you have energy, that you are positive, that you can cope with anything at any time...try it and see if it works for you, surround yourself with positive thoughts, positive people, energetic thoughts and energetic people and watch how it rubs off into your behaviour. See if this helps you cope with time constraints?
We can achieve positive energy just by believing we have it!
